HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION-MEANING AND SIGNIFICANCE    INTRODUCTION  Human rights are essential for leading a decent and dignified life as human being. These are natural rights which are not negotiable and do not depend on conferment by any authority. They are inherent in human existence. The concept of Human rights can generally be defined as “those rights which are inherent in our nature and without which we cannot live as human beings. Human rights and fundamental freedom allow as to fully develop and use our human qualities, our intelligence, our talents and our conscience and to satisfy our spiritual and other needs “(United Nations 1987). Human rights encompass fundamental rights, constitutional rights, directive principles and statutory rights.
